1.1This guide covers the methodologies and best practices for developing and reporting total measurement uncertainty (TMU) estimates for non-destructive assay (NDA) measurements, instruments, calculations, or systems while adapting the principles of JCGM 100 or GUM to meet the uncertainty quantification needs of NDA.
1.2Guidance is provided on testing and evaluating uncertainty estimates.
1.3This guide applies to neutron-, photon-, and heat-based NDA methods.
1.4Both stochastic modeling and analytical uncertainty estimation methods are covered.
