This amendment provides additional guidance on sizing margins that may be applied when nickel-cadmium batteries are used in stationary applications involving an element of charge-discharge cycling. Nickel-cadmium batteries are often used in stationary applications where the ac power supply may be unreliable, resulting in an increased frequency of charge-discharge cycling. The extent to which available battery capacity may be affected depends on the frequency and depth of cycling, charging regime and the specific cell design.
