This standard covers the construction, mechanical and electrical performance, test requirements, environmental considerations, and acceptance criteria for qualifying hardware for use with optical ground wire (OPGW). This standard provides standard manufacturing, testing, and procurement specifications for use with OPGW hardware in order to simplify procurement, standardize testing, assure product quality, and assist usage.
