This amendment adds physical layer (PHY) specifications for IEEE Std 802.3 operation at 1000 Mb/s using standardized plastic optical fiber as the point-to-point data transmission medium. Appropriate management parameters will be enhanced or added in support of the PHY specifications. Amendment Standard - Superseded. A family of three point-to-point physical layers (PHYs) for 1000 Mb/s operation over duplex plastic optical fiber (POF) and related management parameters are specified by this amendment to IEEE Std 802.3-2015.
