This standard covers the requirements for a high-performance, one- or two-component, UV-stable polysiloxane topcoat that provides excellent color and gloss retention.
Coatings meeting the requirements of this standard are generally suitable for exposures in the following environments: exterior, normally dry, frequently wet by fresh water, frequently wet by seawater, and chemical atmospheric exposure, pH 5-10.
The specified coating is intended for application by brush, spray, or roller. It is generally applied over a compatible primer or intermediate coating.
