This specification covers a corrosion and heat resistant cobalt alloy in the form of investment castings.
These castings have been used typically for parts such as turbine vanes requiring high strength up to 1500 \mDF (816 \mDC), and oxidation resistance up to 2000 \mDF (1095 \mDC), but usage is not limited to such applications.
Exposure to elevated temperatures may cause hardening of this alloy; e.g., exposure at approximately 1475 \mDF (800 \mDC) for 50 hrs. may result in hardness as high as 45 HRC.
