The purpose of this handbook is to provide the data modeler with the modeling conventions, philosophy and guidelines used during development of the GEIA-STD-927 schema; and the integration process used to integrate existing best-in-class standard data models into the GEIA-STD-927 schema. Most importantly, the handbook provides tailoring guidelines for the data modeler to use in applying the GEIA-STD-927 schema and mapping tables to a practical application for an existing program.
