TIA J-STD-110.01

The scope of this specification is to provide Commercial Mobile Service Providers (CMSPs) and Text Control Center (TCC) providers with a set of implementation guidelines for the Joint ATIS/TIA Native SMS to 9-1-1 Requirements and Architecture Specification (J-STD-110) [Ref 1] approved in March 2013 and the associated Supplement A [Ref 2].

These implementation guidelines support processes and procedures within Public Safety entities [i.e., Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs)] as native SMS to 9-1-1 services are implemented by Public Safety.

Purpose

The purpose of these implementation guidelines is to address CMSP and TCC provider deployment considerations of J-STD-110 [Ref 1] and the associated Supplement A [Ref 2]. This coordinated approach of these implementation guidelines brings together the appropriate resources to support the deployment of J-STD- 110 [Ref 1] and the associated Supplement A [Ref 2] by CMSP and TCC providers.
