This standard defines the specifications for the connector between the Automobile Adaptation System (AAS) and the Phone Adaptation System (PAS). In more common terms, this standard defines the physical connector parameters between a motor vehicle and a portable phone attachment cable. Specifications for mechanical latching of phones, architectural, electrical interface or other aspects are defined separately.
