These requirements and methods of test apply to fire damper assemblies rated 3/4 h, 1 h, 1 1/2 h, 2 h, or 3 h for use in air-conditioning and ventilating system ducts or openings (without ducts) piercing horizontally or vertically oriented fire separations where the fire separations are required to have a fire resistance rating of not more than 4 h.
