Included in the standard are end mill design parameters, pertinent nomenclature and geometries, suggested areas of application, acceptable end mill materials and hardness requirements, and a glossary of terms defining relative terminology. Unless otherwise noted, all dimensions are in inches.

PURPOSE

This document provides the Aerospace Industry with a uniform standard for the procurement of high speed steel and cobalt high speed steel end mills for general applications, utilization of the specified end mills in accordance with recommended applications will ensure the performance of a wide variety of milling tasks with optimum quality, reliability and economy.
