AWWA C704-02

This standard describes the various types and classes of propeller meters in sizes 2 in. (50 mm) through 72 in. (1,800 mm) for waterworks applications. These meters register by recording the revolutions of a propeller set in motion by the force of flowing water striking the blades. The major revisions to the standard in this edition include the following:
the format has been changed to AWWA standard style; the acceptance clause (Sec. I.C) has been revised to approved wording; Sealed Register and Permanently Sealed Register have been added to the definitions (Sec. 3); an updated materials statement has been included (Sec. 4.1); the format of Table 1 has been updated to match other AWWA meter standards; and, a note requiring straight reading registers on new models of meters has been added (Sec. 4.3.4.7 and A.2).
