This recommended practice provides installation design, installation, maintenance and testing procedures, and test schedules that can be used to optimize the life and performance of vented nickel-cadmium batteries. It also provides guidance for determining when these batteries should be replaced. (Scope unchanged from previous version.) The document should be revised to reflect the latest thinking on maintenance of these batteries, and to resolve issues regarding the capacity calculation method. Revision Standard - Superseded.
